Lindisfarne Castle

Lindisfarne Castle lit by warm evening light. The castle dates from the sixteenth century. Owned by the National Trust, it is well worth a visit.

Lindisfarne is a tidal island in Northumberland, also known as Holy Island. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway which is impassable as the tide rises.
